On the road again..... :)
Left for our little Kadoka estate Sunday morning, in the truck/camper and towing the car on a dolly...and then spent the rest of the day mowing the 50 x 150 lot, covered with 18" tall grass and weeds--with a push mower!!! During 'breaks' in the mowing, we wandered around our 'mansion', assessing the damage and debating whether to fix it or bulldoze it. The vote is still 1 to 1. Then this morning, we headed East towards Cabellas. Can't leave the state without a stop at Cabellas!!!
So, we pulled off the Interstate, turned down the main street, drove a few blocks, turned again and drove several more blocks to the big tire shop where we knew they filled LP cylinders...and we needed some to keep the fridge running at its coldest to keep our ground buffalo frozen. We turned into the parking lot and heard a really bad noise behind us. One wheel of the dolly had apparently been on the verge of flying off for many miles and chose that moment to do it. Pure luck, I'd say. Things got hairy then, because this old homemade tow dolly was built with wheels and hubs from a 1960-something AMC Pacer! But, long story short, a hub was found in a junk yard and 3 hours later we were headed for Cabellas. And now we're settled for the night, in a campground among the trees....
